FA Cup draw LIVE! Manchester United and Tottenham learn fifth-round fate opponents
FA Cup draw live!
The FA Cup fifth-round draw took place this evening, ahead of Derby’s match with West Ham which brings another thrilling weekend of action to a close. Six of the ties played so far require replays.
Tottenham could face a trip to non-league side Wrexham in the fifth round, with Antonio Conte’s side off to Wales if Wrexham can beat Sheffield United in their fourth-round replay. They were seconds away from beating the Championship side at home on Sunday.
Manchester United have now won 11 matches in a row at Old Trafford and they’ve been handed another home tie. Ralf Rangnick’s side will host either Derby or West Ham, with those two sides in action on Monday night. Pep Guardiola and his players travel to face Bristol City, while Brighton’s reward for knocking out holders Liverpool is a trip to Stoke. Leicester are eyeing another deep FA Cup run and they will host Blackburn or Birmingham.

Wrexham face a very tricky trip to Sheffield United in their fourth-round replay.
That hasn’t stopped them already getting excited though about the possibility of hosting Tottenham should they come through that!

We’re still on Hollywood watch. Hang on in there.
Good news is all the replays will have been played by the time we start the draw at this rate, that will make things a bit easier for everyone.

Reese Witherspoon being interviewed - not exactly standard practice for an FA Cup draw.
She says she likes Arsenal and PSG, when asked whether she’d ever want to invest in a European football team. Aiming high then...
Ashton Kutcher suggests he was involved in takeover talks recently for a UK club, doesn’t want to say who though.

Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta and Said Benrahma all on the bench for West Ham tonight.
Still a relatively long side from the Hammers, as they look to book their place in the fifth round.

Draw should be getting underway in about 15 minutes now.
Reminder that it is taking place at some point during The One Show, so there’s a chance we have to put up with some gardening advice first.
Leicester to do it again?
18:40 , Matt Verri
Leicester continue to struggle in the league, but they’re in the hat for this evening’s draw.
They lifted the trophy in 2021 after a sensational run to Wembley - they’ve made a habit of upsetting the odds in recent years.
Don’t rule them out of making another charge this season...
Ten Hag targets silverware
18:32 , Matt Verri
Erik ten Hag says Manchester United are “building” towards winning trophies after a brilliant week in cup competitions.
They already have one foot in the Carabao Cup final after beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the first-leg, while Friday saw United overcome Reading to reach the FA Cup fifth-round.
United are currently on their longest run without a trophy in 40 years, last lifting silverware in 2017 in the form of the League Cup and the Europa League.
“We are here for trophies but we have a long way to go,” Ten Hag said.
“We’re building.”
Tottenham eyeing deep run
18:23 , Matt Verri
Antonio Conte does not consider the FA Cup to be among the game’s biggest prizes, but the Tottenham boss is in no position to be choosy, writes Dan Kilpatrick.
Mauricio Pochettino — Conte’s most celebrated recent predecessor and potential successor — never set much store by the domestic cups either, but the Argentine’s teams were generally competing for league titles and even the Champions League.
Conte’s faltering side are not and, although Spurs remain in the hunt for a top-four place and are preparing for next month’s Champions League last-16 tie against AC Milan, the FA Cup is their most realistic route to a successful campaign.
Spurs have not won the FA Cup, or even reached the final, since 1991, and every passing year feels a little more desperate for a club who once felt synonymous with this competition.
Brighton down Liverpool... again
18:14 , Matt Verri
Brighton have booked their place in the fifth-round draw, seeing off Liverpool for the second time this month.
Kaoru Mitoma scored for the Seagulls in stoppage-time to win it and continue what is shaping up to be a sensational season for Brighton.

Guardiola’s side fancied to go all the way
18:07 , Matt Verri
Manchester City are, unsurprisingly, the favourites to win the FA Cup this season.
They booked their place in the fifth round with a narrow win over Arsenal at the Etihad, landing the opening blow in the first of three matches between the title rivals that could define the season.
Nathan Ake was the hero for his side.
Wrexham flying non-league flag
17:59 , Matt Verri
One non-league side left in the hat, and that’s Wrexham.
They still have work to do to reach the fifth round, having been seconds away from pulling off a stunning win over Championship side Sheffield United on home soil.
The visitors equalised late on though to force a replay at Bramall Lane, but for now Wrexham remain in the competition.
Derby eyeing big upset
17:50 , Matt Verri
Reminder that there’s still one match to be played to bring this FA Cup weekend to a close.
Derby host West Ham tonight, looking to pull off an upset in front of their home fans. Premier League survival very much the priority for the Hammers, so David Moyes could well make a number of changes.
When is the FA Cup fifth round?
17:42 , Matt Verri
The fifth-round ties will take place during the week commencing Monday February 27, 2023.
Replays for the fourth round, of which there are currently five, will mainly take place on February 7. Birmingham though host Blackburn tomorrow night in their clash.
