When is the FA Cup fourth round draw? Details, start time, TV channel and fixtures
Everton enter the 2024/25 FA Cup when they face League One side Peterborough United at Goodison Park on Thursday evening. The Toffees have won three of their last four third round ties in the world's oldest cup competition and headline Thursday's action, with two other matches taking place on the same night.
But just hours before the match was due to get underway, Sean Dyche was sensationally sacked as first team manager, following a succession of poor results which saw the team fail to win any of their last five matches. Although draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City looked positive on paper, the Toffees have since lost against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth - a run of form that has left them down in 16th and just one point above the relegation zone.
On the back of that bombshell, attention for the Toffees now turns to the FA Cup with a third round tie against Peterborough. Posh, managed by Darren Ferguson - the son of Manchester United legend Sir Alex, have endured a difficult season so far and sit 19th in the League One table, having reached the play-offs last season. It means there is 46 places between Everton and Peterborough in the English pyramid.
