AN EBBW Vale RFC player was arrested by Gwent Police during their game against Pontypool RFC.

Fans were shocked to see one of Ebbw Vale's replacements, Morgan Richards, aged 23, being arrested during their away game at Pontypool Park, on December 21, 2024, in the team's warmup.

The fixture was part of the new Super Rygbi Cymru competition that started in September 2024.

The full-back, who has made 43 appearances for the club, is part of an ongoing harassment investigation, Gwent Police have confirmed.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We arrested a man, 23, from the Caldicot area in connection with an ongoing harassment investigation; he was later released on conditional bail as enquiries continue."

Ebbw Vale RFC, known by rugby fans as the Steelmen, has opted not to comment.
