NO Warrington Wolves player has won the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award during the Super League era.

Indeed, the last Wire player to do so was Jonathan Davies back in 1994, with Ken Kelly (1981) the only other player to win the award while turning out for Warrington.

Matt Dufty came close to breaking that drought last year having been named on the three-man shortlist for the competition’s top individual honour, but he lost out to Hull KR half-back Mikey Lewis.

But with the 2025 season around the corner, Super League’s title sponsors Betfred have released their odds for this year’s prize – and several Wire players feature highly in the betting.

It is winger Matty Ashton who is the shortest-priced member of Sam Burgess’ squad in the current betting – he is the joint third-favourite alongside holder Lewis at 12-1.

Wigan Warriors star Bevan French is the 8-1 favourite, with St Helens’ new signing Tristan Sailor close behind at 10-1.

Dufty and half-back George Williams are not far behind – both have odds of 16-1 alongside Wigan full-back Jai Field.

In terms of Warrington players, odds are also available for hooker Danny Walker, centre Rodrick Tai (both 25-1), Testimonial man Toby King (33-1) and prop Paul Vaughan (66-1).
