Jordan Houston saw red before heading to Finland, but Clyde held on for a 0-0 draw at home to Elgin City.

Houston is heading for a new life and full-time football with FC Haka, but was shown a straight red for a crude challenge on Elgin’s Lyall Booth, seven minutes after climbing off the bench in his swan song.

The Bully Wee held on for a point, but boss Darren Young reckons they should have nicked all three.

He said: “We’re happy with the clean sheet and that we got a point, but maybe disappointed at the same time.

“I thought we started very well, they maybe had one

wee five or eight-minute spell within that half, but I felt we were the better team. Defensively we were solid, from start to finish.

“Having to chop and change players isn’t ideal. Jordan Houston has an opportunity to go to Finland, and that leaves us a player down.

“Jordan’s sending off... they have a similar tackle a couple of minutes before it, their guy gets a yellow.

“These things seem to be going against us, but we need to dig in.

“Overall, I’m happy with a point, but I felt we could have maybe nicked the three.”

Young hopes to bring in new faces, but is finding that difficult.

He said: “We are asking, and it’s not a money thing, it’s more that guys are choosing to stay in the Championship, or go to League One.

“We have targets, guys we feel can come in and make a difference, and improve the team.

“We’ve lost out on quite a few, but it’s a process that is ongoing.”

Clyde travel to Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday.
