Ian Holloway said that he could feel the Swindon Town crowd helping the team on for the first time during their 0-0 draw with Crewe Alexandra.

The bulk of the first half was delayed by an hour after the thick fog made the match unplayable before the game finally got going.

Swindon created the better chances in the game as both sides never quite clicked into gear but had to settle for a draw.

Holloway was full of praise for how the supporters got behind his team and willed them on during a performance he was very pleased with.

He said: "When you look at the experience that we had out on the pitch today, I think you could see the difference that Ollie Clarke and Ryan Delaney made, that is the same people who weren't playing that well a few months ago.

"They are a handful [Omar] Bogle and [Jack] Lankester but their manager [Lee Bell] was going mad at half time but I was pretty happy.

"Everybody thinks we are a pushover but we are not so we have got to keep building and keep pushing as we have a long way to go.

"The crowd infused me today, I want to literally thank them because I could feel it.

"I felt it during the second half, I felt us singing, I felt the lads growing, and I think that that is why Botan [Ameen] could do it because no one was moaning when he tripped over the first time he ran at someone.

"I think they will see a difference because I felt that, I felt that when we scored the winner last week and that is understandable but I really did feel it today and that is what we need to do.

"If they deserve it, please support them that way.

"That is the first time that I have heard our songs and I loved it and it was brilliant; it didn't quite carry us over the line but I will take that result all day long."

Holloway added that he was very pleased with the way that his side dealt with the adversity of the long delays and took the game to Crewe.

He said: "What a game, they looked like they wanted to win and we looked like we wanted to win as well.

"Personally, I think that we probably had the better chances but I am just delighted with the lads.

"That is the first clean sheet that I have gotten since I have been here and I think that we thoroughly deserved it as we had to make some blocks.

"It was exciting and I thought we played really well, we looked solid and in the second half, the longer the game went on, the more we grew, and the more we looked like one of the subs might come on and make a difference.

"If you think about where they are in the table and where we are then that is a massive positive."
