Feyenoord ace drops major Arne Slot hint with Liverpool deal already agreed
Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez has dropped a massive hint regarding the future of Arne Slot. The 45-year-old looks set to take over from Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool this summer, although nothing has been confirmed with an official announcement by the club.
The 2022/23 champions, who look set to miss out on the title this time round thanks to a dominant display from PSV Eindhoven, secured an impressive 5-0 win against PEC Zwolle on Sunday afternoon. Slot's side currently sit on 78 points, just four points off the tally that secured the title last year.
Silverware has been secured in the current campaign after Feyenoord beat NEC to clinch the KNVB Cup back in April. After that win, the news regarding a move to Liverpool broke with Slot's interviews since having essentially already given the game away.

Fast forward to the present day and it now appears inevitable that Slot will become Klopp's successor in the coming months. Both Liverpool and Feyenoord have agreed on a hefty compensation package, which allows the former midfielder to make the move to Anfield.
Despite no official confirmation being communicated with the footballing world, Feyenoord striker Giménez has all but confirmed the Rotterdam to Merseyside switch for Slot. "He deserves the world; he made wonderful memories," the forward said to the Daily Mail after scoring twice in the recent win. "We are happy he was — well, is — our coach."
Slot himself has also been vocal about his desire to make the jump into the Premier League, which likely pushed through negotiations between the two clubs. "It seems clear to me that I would like to work there," he said before a compensation agreement was reached. "All I can say about it is that the clubs are in negotiations. I’m in the waiting room."
Giménez himself has also been linked with a move to the top flight of English football this summer. Tottenham Hotspur is one of the sides credited with an interest in the player (via The Telegraph), who has netted 23 goals in 29 starts in the Eredivisie this season.
Liverpool.com says: While the 'announcement has not been made yet, it's almost certainly going to arrive. The two clubs will likely finish the 2023/24 campaign and allow for a farewell tour to happen for both managers at the end of their respective tenures. Klopp will receive a heartwarming farewell from Anfield in the coming weeks, as he calls an end to his nine years in charge of the club.
