Figure skater based in Leigh defends her title at major competition in Berlin
A Leigh-based figure skater has returned from Berlin after defending her title.
Lulu Alexandra, from Leigh, successfully defended her artistic figure skating title in the Gold Women's category.
She won the competition by a margin of just 0.01 points over a Swedish competitor.
The Leigh skater, who trains at Chelmsford's Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, had undergone foot surgery in the summer and this was her first competition since the operation.

Lulu, a sports ambassador for Chelmsford City Sports, said: "I would like to thank Riverside and the ambassador scheme for supporting me in my training and recovery, which helps enable me to continue competing internationally, and show that competitive sport isn't just for the younger generation.
"I am proud to still be competing in my forties."
Lulu is coached by Victor Teslia at the Chelmsford leisure centre.
