So it was no surprise to see him and boss Dougie Imrie scoop up the final league awards for 2024 late last week.
Here are five key moments that won Cameron Blues the Championship Player of the Month for December...
Airdrie goal
Blues kicked off a stellar month by netting his first goal of the season against Airdrieonians.
It was a trademark finish from the midfielder who'd timed his run well to arrive late on the edge of the box, meet Nathan Shaw's pass and slot the ball beyond Kieran Wright in the Diamonds net.
Ton would fail to hold onto their lead not once but twice in North Lanarkshire, but it was just the start for Blues who was back in his midfield berth.
Goal line clearance

Blues followed up his goal in Airdrie with perhaps his biggest performance of the season against Dunfermline just seven days later at Cappielow.
The stakes couldn't have been higher between the two teams heading into kick off, and Blues was already keen to try and help his side push ahead after being left annoyed at their Airdrie collapse the week before.
He couldn't have got off to a better start as he denied Dunfermline an opener in the early stages, putting his body on the line to stop Pars defender Tom Fogarty scoring into an open net, but the best was yet to come.
Dunfermline goal

Blues would take it up a notch less than an hour later as he compounded the Fifers' misery.
After his stunning goal line clearance prevented what looked like a certain opener, Blues put Ton on course for three points early in the second half by netting his second goal in two games.
A looping effort from the right hand side left Dunfermline keeper Tobi Owulayemi blushing as he was caught out by the elements, but the build up to the goal epitomised Blues' game.
He worked hard to win the ball back high up the park before beating David Wotherspoon in a duel to eventually get his cross away and earn his side a vital win.
Man of the Match display against Ayr United
Ton weren't at their best against Ayr on December 28, but yet again Blues was at the centre of the action with a dogged display in the middle of the park.
He covered every inch of grass at Somerset Park as he tried to keep tabs on United men Conor McLennan and Scott McCann, who tried to dominate things on the left hand side of the pitch.
But he was in no mood to let them get the better of him or his teammates.
Stunning Partick winner

There was perhaps no better way for Blues or Morton to finish off December, or 2024 as a whole, than that stunning win against Partick Thistle at Cappielow.
Many will remember it purely for Blues' late winner - but his performance across the 90 minutes set the tone that afternoon.
Right from the off, he set the tempo with a crunching tackle on former teammate Robbie Crawford to get things going before dominating things in the middle of the pitch for much of the game.
He was unlucky not to get an assist earlier in the first half after winning the ball high up the pitch and teeing up Owen Moffat.
But he got the reward his performance dissevered by timing his run perfectly to head home Michael Garrity's cross to earn all three points in stunning style.
