Five Lady Tigers have multi-hit games as Troup rolls West Rusk, 8-1

Apr. 17—NEW LONDON — Troup batters racked up 10 hits in strolling to an 8-1 victory over West Rusk in New London Tuesday.

A quintet of Lady Tigers had two hits each in the District 16-3A fray.

That group included Shiloh Sluder, Taylor Gillispie, MaKayla Spencer, Bailey Blanton and Sydnie Dickey.

A Dickey double was the Lady Tigers' only extra base hit of the evening.

Collecting an RBI apiece were Gillispie, Spencer, Blanton and Dickey.

Freshman Carli Hays pitched a complete game 4-hitter. She allowed one unearned run, struck out 12 and walked two.

Hays is 6-3 on the year and has fanned 62 opposing batters in 49 innings of work. She owns an earned run average of 1.14.

Heading into the regular season finale Friday, Troup and Jefferson are tied at the top of the district standings, both sporting 9-2 records. The two teams split their regular season meetings.

Troup is scheduled to host third-place Arp at 7 p.m. Friday, while Jefferson travels to fourth-place Tatum.
