The five players tipped to join Swansea City in January and where things stand
The January window has opened, and Swansea City are hopeful of strengthening their squad ahead of the second half of the season.
Of course, there are priorities that go beyond the transfer window, the most pressing being the future of head coach Luke Williams, who continues to be linked with the vacancy at West Bromwich Albion.
Clarification on his situation might well be needed in order to kick any January plans up a notch, but there are clearly a few irons in the fire already.

Here's a quick rundown on some of the players to be linked so far, and where things currently stand with each of them.
Joe Low
The Wycombe Wanderers centre-back has emerged as a top target for the Swans in this window.
It's understood the club have already launched a bid for the Wales international, although it's been suggested their initial approach has already been batted away by the Chairboys.
A centre-back is believed to be high on the winter wishlist, regardless of what happens with Harry Darling's future, with loanee Nelson Abbey returning to parent club Olympiakos.
However, the 22-year-old is very much still on the radar, and Swansea remain hopeful of getting a deal done.
Williams confirmed the club's interest after his side's defeat to Portsmouth recently, stating: "He is a player that I have worked with before.
"I don't know exactly where we are in terms of bids being rejected - I need to catch up with the chairman. But he is certainly a player that we like."
Definitely one to keep an eye on.
Richard Kone
Another Wycombe Wanderers player to have been tipped with a possible move to SA1, although this one doesn't look to be as much of a goer - for the time being at least.
Reports from Kone's native Ivory Coast first mentioned the Swans as being potentially interested in the 21-year-old, who's scored 15 goals in all competitions for the League One outfit so far.
It's a run of form that's understandably generated plenty of admiring glances.
Indeed, sources claim a swathe of Championship clubs have expressed a serious interest, but at the moment Swansea aren't believed to be one of them.
Kone recently put pen to paper on a new deal with Wanderers that will keep him at the club until 2026, which combined with the level of interest in his signature, means his value may well have rocketed recently.
That could potentially put the brakes on any potential move from the Swans, who are likely to once again be working on a tight budget this winter.
Luke Cundle
The Wolves midfielder is well known to Swans fans following a reasonably successful loan spell at the club under Russell Martin.
Cundle scored three goals in 34 games during a stint in the 2022/23 campaign, and spent the first half of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle before being recalled and sent out again, this time to Stoke City.
Having made seven appearances for Wolves so far, the 22-year-old has found game time hard to come by this season, making just one appearance in the EFL Trophy.
Wolves are subsequently ready to let him move on, and are open to both a permanent and loan move away.
It's understood Swansea have added Cundle to a list of players they admire, but at the time of writing there's no indication they've taken their interest any further than that at this stage.
Hull City, Oxford United, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers are also monitoring his situation.

Keelan Adams
The highly-rated full-back was one of the first names to emerge ahead of the January window.
Reports elsewhere claimed Swansea, along with Championship rivals Leeds United and Scottish giants Rangers, were monitoring the Falkirk star. However, there's not been much indication either way on just how strong their interest is at this stage.
When quizzed on links with the 23-year-old, Williams said recently: "I don't actually know anything about that one. I'm not saying that it's not a player on our list. But I'm not always involved in every single one, as you can imagine because it's a full-time job and I've actually got one of those already!
"So I have to be careful with how much I'm involved in the entire process. So I don't know anything about that player at this moment in time."
Noel Milleskog
A player Swansea certainly like, but there doesn't appear to have been much movement over the last few months.
Williams admitted towards the end of the summer that there was interest in the winger, but a deal never quite materialised.
The admiration for the Sirius star is understood to still be there, but there hasn't yet been any sort of concrete move from Swansea to try and firm up their interest.
Whether that changes over the coming weeks remains to be seen, with reports in Sweden claiming the Swans are just one of several sides keen.
Go Ahead Eagles, Malmö FF, KV Kortrijk, and FC Twente are among the others tipped to also be in the picture.
