Five ways Arsenal can line up with Benjamin Sesko if Mikel Arteta completes £70m transfer
Arsenal are hoping to sign an attacker within the next two weeks as Mikel Arteta hopes to address issues in front of goal as the club continues to chase Liverpool in the Premier League.
Recent reports have placed RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko on the list of potential moves the Spaniard could make. The 6ft 5ins Slovenian has been relatively sharp this Bundesliga campaign, netting eight times in 17 outings. In total, he has found the net 21 times in 58 league matches for the Red Bull side.
football.london understands that Arsenal's interest in Sesko is genuine, with the Gunners still keeping an eye on the player despite not bringing him to North London last summer.

A potential deal for the player still seems some way off with the impending February 3 transfer deadline for England and Germany. But, the Gunners may have been boosted in their efforts after reports that Leipzig intend to add to their attacking ranks with a €30million offer for Southampton's teenage winger Tyler Dibling.
If Sesko were to move to the Emirates Stadium, he would bring a much different skillset to what the side currently has - performing more as a poacher and drawing comparisons to Erling Haaland, during his time in Dortmund, from German media outlets.
Football data analyst WhoScored lists Sesko's strongest qualities as being his headed attempts, long shots and his finishing.
So, how might his presence in an Arsenal XI change the current set-up? football.london takes a look...
Potential first game vs Man City
In this scenario, Arsenal and Leipzig begin negotiations ahead of the upcoming Premier League fixture against Manchester City on February 2. Things go smoothly and the player joins, either on loan or as a permanent transfer, in time to start against the champions. Here's how the Gunners might line up in a familiar 4-3-3 formation:
Raya - Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori - Rice, Partey, Odegaard - Trossard, Sesko, Martinelli.
The familiar set-up sees Trossard and Martinelli retain positions on either wing but Havertz drops to the bench for the new signing. Havertz's height is often put to good use by Arteta, particularly in challenging battles with rivals such as City, and this could potentially be better with the presence of Sesko.
The towering striker stands slightly taller than Havertz, meaning he would be a focal point in attack and useful for defensive set-pieces. His ruthlessness in of goal could also serve well with limited scoring chances offered by Man City.
Arsenal at full fitness
Arsenal fans have been pining for the return of starman Bukayo Saka and a long list of defensive injuries, including Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. If they were to get their wish of seeing Arteta field a fully-fit starting line-up, featuring Sesko, it might look something like this:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Partey, Odegaard; Saka, Sesko, Martinelli.
The inclusion of Saka, as well as the much-needed coverage across the pitch, transforms this Arsenal lineup. Saka has long been the Gunners' main attacking outlet in the last few seasons - providing five goals and 10 assists in his 16 appearances this league campaign.
Those assists have been the highlight of his game, this season, with his ability to provide pinpoint crosses during corners likely to be of interest to the potential Slovenian addition. Sesko's attacking prowess at set pieces is well-documented and the player scored five headers in the previous Bundesliga campaign. Could the two attackers be a match made in heaven for Arteta's side?
Arsenal with other transfer targets
Sesko is not the only name linked to the Emirates Stadium that has excited fans with the club's pursuit of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi reportedly close to being complete. The potential deal is expected to see Zubimendi join the Gunners at the end of the season for a fee of around £51million.
This transfer window has also seen Arsenal emerge as suitors for Wolves' Matheus Cunha, who has 10 goals and four assists in the Premier League. Cunha is a versatile attacking option who could provide cover in both central and wide areas if he were to make the move to London. How might Arsenal line up if both were to join alongside Sesko?
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard; Saka, Sesko, Cunha.
The impressive XI would see Partey replaced by 25-year-old Zubimendi in the middle of the park and Martinelli make way for his Brazilian counterpart, Cunha who would promise to be a tricky opponent for any full-back. The improved spine, along with the attacking addition, would make a formidable side.
Arsenal with young stars playing
Hale End has been the source of many important players for Arsenal and this season has been no different with the emergence of both Ethan Nwaneri and Miles Lewis-Skelly.
The former has continued to impress Arsenal fans - scoring his first goal in the Premier League in a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest and earning his first league start as a winger against Brentford in a 3-1 win for the Gunners, where he also scored.
Lewis-Skelly's breakthrough at left-back has been more of a surprise for fans. The talented player usually plies his trade in midfield but has relished the opportunity for first-team minutes at the hands of extensive defensive injuries. The 18-year-old has yet to put a foot wrong and has showcased an aura of calmness in tricky situations.
Here's how Sesko could fit into a youthful Arsenal side:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Rice, Nwaneri, Odegaard; Saka, Sesko, Martinelli.
At just 21 years old himself, Sesko and the Hale End talents would set the club up nicely for the future.
Arsenal with both Havertz and Sesko
Kai Havertz has been replaced by Sesko in each of the other potential lineups, but that might not be the case if the Slovenian were to sign. Mikel Arteta has repeatedly expressed his admiration for Havertz both in his press conferences and in his team selections - and has been repaid by the German international.
Last season, Havertz was moved into a more traditional No.9 role, despite uncertainty from fans. He repaid his manager's faith with nine goals and six assists in the last 13 Premier League games, winning over fans in the process.
But, he is unlikely to retain an attacking position if Sesko were to be added to the side. Instead, Arteta is more likely to once again deploy him in a midfield position where he can often find space in congested areas and make late runs into the box.
Here's how this starting line-up might look:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Havertz, Odegaard; Saka, Sesko, Martinelli.
