Bishop’s Cleeve eased past a youthful Gloucester City side 9-0 to book a GFA Senior Cup semi-final meeting with Bristol City Under-23s.

The Mitres made a flying start as Ethan Dunbar played a low ball across the box for Aaron Evans-Harriott to open the scoring after five minutes.

Two minutes later, Evans-Harriott grabbed his second after gliding through the Gloucester defence and placing it in the same corner.

Cleeve got their third on the half-hour as Evans-Harriott completed his hat-trick. Similarly to his second goal, the wide man cut inside beating two defenders and placing the ball into the bottom corner.

Minutes before half-time, the Mitres grabbed a fourth as Dunbar received the ball from Matt Bower and rounded the keeper to slot home.

A minute to go until half-time, Dunbar made it five. Matt Liddiard played the striker through and he made no mistake.

Cleeve started off the second half with the same attacking intent and won a corner, which Evans-Harriott floated in for Josh Nelmes to power home and make it six after 50 minutes.

Paul Collicutt’s men made it 7-0, with Dunbar also earning his hat trick, and Ross Langworthy thought he made it eight, but the linesman flagged him for offside.

The eighth goal did come after a ball in from Evans-Harriott, saw Dunbar pull off a beautiful flicked finish to take his tally to four and Cleeve grabbed their ninth on the final whistle through Nelmes.

Meanwhile, Cleeve sit two points outside the Southern League Division One South play-off spots after New Year’s Day’s 4-1 win over Malvern Town.

Malvern scored just before the half-hour mark through Joseph Bullock, but 10 minutes later Cleeve equalised through Ross Langworthy.

Cleeve got off to a great start in the second half, taking the lead courtesy of a Matt Bower header and two goals for Ethan Dunbar and Langworthy in added time put a gloss on the scoreline.

Cleeve’s game at Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Saturday was called off and they have a game in hand on all the sides in play-off spots, including Evesham United, who sit third after Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Shaftesbury as Andre Wright grabbed a hat-trick.

The opener came from Wright and Levi Steele added a second soon afterwards.

Wright made it 3-0 and Amer Awadh added the fourth before Wright completed the scoring.

Cinderford Town are 12 points from safety after their New Year’s Day game with Evesham and Saturday’s trip to Helston Athletic were both postponed.

Josh Blyth’s last-gasp equaliser gave Fairford Town a 2-2 Hellenic League Premier Division draw with Cirencester Town on Tuesday night.

Cirencester led through Aidan Bennett with Charlie Holliday levelling, then Harrison Edwards put them ahead again before Blyth struck.

Thornbury Town beat Brimscombe & Thrupp 3-0 with goals for Zak Kempster, Callum Chalmers and Jotham McLaughlin.

On Saturday, leaders Hartpury University drew 1-1 with second-placed Mangotsfield United, as Jacob Towns gave the Acorns a 54th-minute lead, but Harrison Kyte rescued a point for the Mangos in stoppage time.

Fairford Town were beaten 2-0 at Hereford Pegasus, while Thornbury Town crashed 5-0 at Worcester Raiders.

Hartpury also had a 5-0 win over Brimscombe & Thrupp on Thursday night thanks to Luke Salter’s penalty, a Nathan Jenkins double and goals for Renato Prifti and Cheick Kone.

In Division One, Newent Town lost 1-0 at Chipping Sodbury Town last Thursday, and on Tuesday Sodbury beat Tytherington Rocks 5-1, Kyle Head netting for Rocks.

Four of the County League's top five have thrown their hats into the ring for promotion to Step 6 at the end of the season.

Top three sides Almondsbury, Sharpness and Wick, and fifth-placed Stoke Gifford SGS United are all hoping to make the move to either the Hellenic or Western Leagues for season 2025-6

The exception in the leading bracket are fourth-placed Frampton United saw their title hopes take a knock with a 3-2 defeat at fellow challengers Wick.

Corey Langdon’s hat-trick put Wick 3-0 up but Tom Mangan pulled one back for with a header and two minutes into time added on Zac Tyers made it 3-2, but Frampton could not find a leveller.

The result leaves them in fourth, six points behind leaders Almondsbury with a game in hand.

At the bottom, Quedgeley Wanderers took a valuable 2-1 victory over Broadwell Amateurs.

Sean Lawson was fouled in the box for a Quedgeley penalty which Jordan Rouse smashed into the top corner.

Broadwell levelled through Nathan Davies but Fin Jenner got the Quedgeley winner.

Jamie Goodwin scored four times as Northern Senior League Division One leaders Tewkesbury Town beat neighbours Bredon 6-1.

Alex Roder and Adam Stanley netted the other goals as Town opened up a six-point lead at the top, although second-placed Whaddon United have two games in hand. Jake Rhodes relied for Bredon.

English Bicknor were 3-0 winners at Smiths Barometrics with goals from George Riley, Toby Wildig and Bradley Williams.

Winchcombe Town led 3-0 against Viney St Swithins in Division Two thanks to a Sam Coats penalty, Benjie Bingham and Josh Long before Viney St Swithins pulled two goals back, both from Kieran Fabiani, but the Magpies held on for a 3-2 win.

Four goals from Hollie Handisides helped Gloucester City Reserves to a 7-0 Gordon Perrett League Cup win over Longwell Green.

She completed her hat-trick inside 21 minutes and added her fourth soon after, with Alisha Kantorowicz making it 5-0 at half-time.

Hannah Clarke made it 6-0 before Zoe Gabb added the seventh.

Longlevens were beaten 3-0 by Bristol & West, while Bishop’s Cleeve were given a walkover by Forest Green Rovers Development.

In the Sue Henson-Green Cup, Katie Mills scored twice as Bishop’s Cleeve Development beat Bradley Stoke 2-0, but Winchcombe Town lost 3-1 to Downend Flyers A, Emma Levett scoring.
