Football club launches crowdfunder after storm damages floodlights
A Cumbrian football club have launched a crowdfunding appeal to help get their storm-damaged floodlights working again.
Carlisle City have had to postpone games since their facilities were hit by Storm Eowyn last month.
Winds of more than 80mph affected the floodlights and City are appealing for help to get them repaired.
A GoFundMe page has been set up with a £2,000 target. By Saturday night it had already raised more than £700.
The Northern League Division One club's chairman Brian Hall explained the appeal on the GoFundMe site.
He said: "The effects of Storm Eowyn has damaged the club floodlights at Gillford Park.
"To get them working again, we are raising funds for the essential materials, labour and access equipment.
"Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated."

The storm, on Friday, January 24, led City to postpone the following week's Cumbrian derby against Penrith.
They also had to postpone last Friday's home game against Newcastle Blue Star, saying in a statement: "The damage caused to the floodlights in the recent storm has still to be rectified, with a delay caused by a late delivery of materials needed.
"A new date for the game will be arranged."
City, managed by Dan Kirkup, are 16th in the Northern League Division One table and also in the semi-finals of the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup.
The last four of the county senior cup has now been completed with City and Penrith joined by Cleator Moor Celtic and Aspatria.
Cleator Moor won their quarter-final against Keswick 2-0, while Aspatria were 3-0 winners at Wetheriggs United.
