A  junior football team has received sponsorship for the third season in succession.

The Astley and Buckshaw Junior Football Club has been sponsored by Anwyl Homes since 2021.

The homebuilder initially backed the Under Sevens' White team and has continued its support as they have moved up to the Under Nines' League.

The sponsorship package, worth £600, has provided the team with full kits for their Mid Lancs Junior Colts League matches.

Roger Thompson, team coach and designer manager for Anwyl Homes Lancashire, said: "The club celebrated its 20th anniversary last year and unveiled a new crest, which is on the Under Nines’ White Team kit along with the Anwyl logo.

"Sponsorship from local businesses like Anwyl is crucial to grassroots sports teams as without a match kit we can't play.

"Anwyl's continued support means we're able to continue to play."

The club, which plays and trains at Westway Sports Hub in Chorley, has more than 40 coaches who support hundreds of children, from age four upwards, to play football weekly.
