Forgotten man Ross Moriarty reveals what happened with his Wales career
Ross Moriarty has spoken about his Wales career and what went wrong during the Wayne Pivac era.
The hard-carrying number eight featured as a guest on the latest episode of the Sportin Wales podcast. Moriarty was interviewed by fellow Wales internationals Alex Cuthbert and Ellis Jenkins.
On the topic of Wales and the Six Nations, host Cuthbert asked Moriarty whether he'd received any contact from the Wales coaches about selection in recent times.

"The last World Cup I did get asked if I would be open to coming to the camp," explained Moriarty.
"At that time, I had only really just arrived at Brive. I came here at the end of the Top 14 season Brive were in.
"I would have been away for a long time with the Welsh camp.
"Obviously I may or may not have been involved in the squad to go to the World Cup, and I just thought, 'I've only just arrived at Brive'. I just wanted to show that I was fully committed to the team.
"It was a tough decision. But for me to come to France, I wanted to let them know that I was here to do a job for the club and that was it at that time."
Moriarty has 54 caps for Wales, which means that he can play for clubs outside of Wales and will still be eligible for selection. However, similar to Tomas Francis at Pro D2 club Provence, despite his eligibility he has not been selected by Warren Gatland.
In fact, the last international match the former Dragons RFC man played in was against Italy in 2022, where Pivac's Wales were infamously beaten 22-21 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Cuthbert spoke about the period where Pivac was in charge, asking Moriarty why he thought the New Zealander wasn't picking him, despite being selected in squads.
"I was in and around the squad," he said. "We were kind of going through that transition, we were trying new players. I had quite a lot of injuries as well, which didn't help me. I wasn't really fit for long periods of time. That probably didn't help my cause really, keeping myself in that squad.
"My last match was against Italy, we all know what happened with that. We lost, and that was the last time I played for Wales. After the end of that season, I came to France to play."
Back in December, Moriarty sustained a bad injury while playing for Brive against Dax, which put him out for three months. A maul collapsed on top of him, causing him to scream out in pain. He had to go under the knife and is now in rehabilitation.
