Title-chasing Leeds United are continuing their preparations for Monday's televised trip to Burnley.

It promises to be a mouth-watering, heavyweight clash between two of the best teams in the division. "Important game but the same importance as the game today [against Norwich]," stressed Whites boss Daniel Farke.

"We like to speak about massive games but in this league so many massive games coming up. We'll hear this against Burnley, Sheffield United, Sunderland. It's another very, very difficult away game because Burnley is one of the best sides, a tough place to go, but nothing more.

“If these games were more important than the others - we beat Leicester and Ipswich twice and they're playing in the Premier League. Games like today, like the last days, you need to be on it. We're looking forward to a spotlight game and you want to challenge yourself against the best opponents but it's just another chance to add a few points."

The Clarets, unbeaten in their past 15 games (W9 D6), look set to be without a number of first team players through injury. Jordan Beyer, Aaron Ramsey, Enock Agyei, Manuel Benson and Nathan Redmond all sat-out the recent 5-0 demolition of Plymouth Argyle. Speaking ahead of the trip to Devon, head coach Scott Parker said: "Nathan's training with us now, so is Benny. They're the main two.

“Enock is not training fully with us, but he's on the grass and he's progressing in the right way. Same with Aaron. But the two that are back training with us are Nathan and Benny, but they still need a lot more work with the group and more loading.”

Beyer has not figured since December 2023. Despite making progress in his return from a knee injury, he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

“I think it will be [a while until he’s back],” said Parker. “Jordan's progressing in the right way though, I’m really pleased with Jordan.

“He's in the treatment room still, but we've seen signs of him walking around the training facility with his boots on. We’re not getting carried away because he's literally just walking around, but he's progressing in the right way and he's going in the right direction after a big surgery.”
