Daniel Farke faces the media on Thursday afternoon for his pre-match press conference. The Leeds United manager will take questions from television, radio, print and online journalists at Thorp Arch ahead of the Oxford United clash on Saturday.

Here is a run-down of some of the main topics on the agenda for the boss to address at the training ground today.

Better to have Rowett in charge or managerless?

At the time of writing, Oxford are managerless and have yet to appoint Gary Rowett, who is understood to be the leading candidate for the job. Depending on when that appointment is made, Farke may be asked about the contrasting impacts he expects from the visitors either with or without a new manager in place.

Has there been an apology this week?

We know Farke and Leeds are no strangers to letters of apology from Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), but have they had one in the post this week? John Busby’s failure to discipline Ben Whiteman for his tackle on Jayden Bogle has been widely criticised on all sides since Saturday’s game.

Where are the injuries at?

Junior Firpo and Ilia Gruev have been ruled out until 2025, but how is the rest of the squad shaping up? There were no signs of any new injuries during Saturday’s draw, but what has this week brought? Are there any fresh concerns before Oxford visit?

How is Aaronson coping with his recent run of performances?

Brenden Aaronson has been directly involved in one goal since November 2 (eight games) and that was his tap-in against Middlesbrough last week. Evidently, the American is doing something else to retain his place in Farke’s side.

The manager has previously talked up the number 11’s work rate, pressing ability and ball recoveries, but does he want to see more in an attacking sense? How is Aaronson himself coping with this dry spell?

Is more urgency needed in upping Bamford’s minutes?

While he missed one of the clearer chances of his career on Saturday, Patrick Bamford was decent from the bench. While Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe fail to string together consistently impactful performances in attack, the door is ajar for Bamford to prove he can be the man for Farke into 2025.

However, the 31-year-old has only been used from the bench in three of the last eight games, amounting to 55 minutes of pitch time. Does Farke feel any need to ramp up the number nine’s minutes in order to make him a realistic candidate for starts?
