Former Blues defender earns new deal in National League
One of Hartlepool United's group of ex-Carlisle United men has been rewarded with a new deal.
Defender Tom Parkes has extended his stay with the National League club until the end of next season.
Parkes' impressive form for the Monkey Hangers has seen the club secure his future for another 18 months.
The 33-year-old has been at the north east club since 2023, having had a spell with Carlisle from 2017 to 2019.
“I’m happy to have everything sorted, I’m looking forward to building on the last 12 months," Parkes told the Hartlepool website.
✍️ We're delighted to announce Tom Parkes has signed a new contract at the Prestige Group Stadium until the end of next season.

"I’ve loved every minute since coming here, it’s nice to be playing regularly and picking up points.
"Hopefully we can have a strong second half of the season and finish high up the table.”
Parkes' team-mates at the Prestige Group Stadium include the former Blues striker Gary Madine and ex-United loan forward Adam Campbell.
First-team coach at the club, meanwhile, is the former Carlisle assistant boss Gavin Skelton. Pools are 12th in the National League under veteran manager Lennie Lawrence.
Parkes made 89 appearances for the Blues after joining under Keith Curle in the summer of 2017.
