Former Cheltenham Town, Tranmere Rovers and Walsall midfielder Jacob Maddox leaves Forest Green Rovers
Jacob Maddox has left Forest Green Rovers after a season-and-a-half with the club.
The midfielder has not made a single appearance in the National League this season, but appeared in 18 League Two games last term.
Maddox had only made one appearance in the National League Cup against Manchester United Under-21s and had struggled with injuries for most of the season.
Along with the injuries, the 26-year-old had also struggled for game time in parts last season after issues with his hamstring.
The Bristol-born midfielder had appeared in two games in the EFL Trophy last season against Walsall and Brighton Under-21s.
The former Chelsea academy product had been named on the bench in six games this season. Maddox had signed for the club in the summer under David Horseman after a year spell with Walsall.
Maddox had appeared for England in the Under-20s set up and had represented England Under-19s at the 2017 European Championship. before loan spells with Cheltenham Town, Tranmere Rovers and Burton Albion.
He also moved to Portugal to play for Vitória de Guimarães in the Primeira Liga.
