Former Hull FC coach lands new role at Hull KR in cross-city switch
Former Hull FC Head of Youth Pete Riding has landed a new role—at cross-city rivals Hull KR. The experienced coach will take on the position of Head of Pathways Recruitment at the Robins and began work this January.
Riding first joined the Black and Whites for the 2022 season and spent two and a half years at the club, helping to boost the club's youth systems and oversee a programme that has seen players progress both on an academic and professional rugby league level, with the academy finishing in the top four in each of the last three seasons, and more importantly, many young players going on to represent the first-team.
Leaving Hull by 'mutual consent' last July, with the club overseeing a full restructure under now CEO Richie Myler, Riding was replaced internally by long-serving coach Richard Tate, with Francis Cummins working as Emerging Talent Coach, taking charge of both the academy and reserves teams.

Meanwhile, the West Yorkshire native has worked at several Super League clubs over the last 20 years, including Wakefield Trinity, Huddersfield Giants, Castleford Tigers, and Warrington Wolves. Specialising in youth development, he now joins a Robins youth system that contains Jason Netherton, with the club recently completing work on a new 4G pitch adjacent to their Craven Park ground—a facility that allows all different teams from the Robins' pathway to come together.
