Former Leeds United favourite Georginio Rutter has made his thoughts on making a potential switch to Manchester United very clear after scoring at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The attacker - who left Elland Road this summer - struck the third goal in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 3-1 win over Ruben Amorim’s side to take his tally for the season to six. Despite leaving Leeds in August, Rutter still clearly holds close affinity to the Whites.

After scoring in Manchester over the weekend, the 22-year-old interacted with a Man United fan online while hosting a live stream of him playing a video game. The supporter referenced how Rutter had “hit me in the heart today” thanks to his goal.

The striker replied: “Yeah (laugh)… I am an ex-Leeds player as well!”, while beaming and laughing. Rutter was then asked if would like to sign for Man United.

“No,” he quickly responded before shaking his head and eventually smirking. His goal at Old Trafford means he has now scored in consecutive Premier League matches, having also netted as a substitute at Ipswich Town last week.

He also notched in straight league games earlier in the season, having found the net against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur either side of the October international break. Rutter has meanwhile provided three assists to accompany his six goals in 24 outings.

The Frenchman helped condemn Man United to their 10th Premier League defeat of the season, with head coach Amorim admitting afterwards that he might be in control of the worst side in the club’s history.

Rutter - who registered eight goals and 18 assists in 66 matches for Leeds - sees Brighton sit ninth in the table and eight points better off than Man United, who languish in 13th.
