Leicester City could face their former winger Demarai Gray in the second half of the Premier League season as he eyes a return to England.

Gray has spent the past 18 months in Saudi Arabia, playing for Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq. But the Sun report that the 28-year-old has failed to settle and now wants to come back to the Premier League.

Fulham look his most likely destination at the moment. Marco Silva was said to be keen on Gray before the winger left Everton for the Middle East, and he could return for him, as at £5m, he’d be a cheap option to strengthen out wide.

While he was a regular during his first season at Al-Ettifaq, scoring four goals and assisting four more, Gray has only played seven club matches this season. He’s nearly played as much international football, earning six Jamaica caps over the autumn international breaks.

If Gray does get a new club in January, it will be his fourth side since leaving City four years ago. After 169 games in five years at the King Power Stadium, Gray left in January 2021, heading to Bayer Leverkusen for £2m.

He came back to England just six months later, joining Everton. He made a quick start at Goodison Park and was involved in nine goals and assists in his first campaign there, eclipsing his best tally in a City shirt. He was still a regular in his second season with the Toffees, scoring four goals and adding one assist in 33 Premier League outings, but was sold to Al-Ettifaq for £8m at the end of that term.
