Former Man Utd chief 'to become' Rangers COO as Patrick Stewart opens his contacts book after another Ibrox exit
Former Manchester United director Sean Jefferson is set to be appointed as the new Chief Commercial Officer in January on an interim basis.
There has been a number of changes behind the scenes at Ibrox with Nils Koppen named the new sporting director at Ibrox before Patrick Stewart came in the door as chief executive offers to replace James Bisgrove after his exit to Saudi Arabia in the summer. Fraser Thornton was also announced as chairman as he took over from John Gilligan who had been at the helm on an interim basis.
Nor Jefferson is set to come in to replace Karim Varani who is set to leave in January to "pursue new opportunities", report the Glasgow Times. Varani joined the Ibrox board in summer 2023 becomes the latest high-profile departures at the Scottish Premiership side, however the club have moved swiftly to appoint a man who will be familiar to Stewart from his time at Old Trafford. Jefferson has worked in various roles as a director at the Premier League giants and Diageo.
