Former Reading target Lewis Fiorini has made a temporary switch to Scotland, joining Premiership outfit Dundee United until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old Manchester City youth product was a target for the club last season and was reportedly close to signing ahead of Ruben Selles' first season in charge.

However, a transfer embargo blocked a move and the midfielder stayed in the North-West until January.

A popular loanee at Blackpool, Fiorini spent the latter part of last season with Charlton Athletic before moving to Stockport County permanently in 2024.

15 appearances in the first part of the campaign was not as many minutes as hoped or expected and Fiorini penned a short-term deal with Dundee United until the end of the season.

A Scotland Under-21 international, Dundee United sit third in the top-flight, 10 points adrift of the Old Firm pair sat first and second.

"As soon as I heard of the interest and spoke to the Gaffer, I was keen to get up here," Fiorini told the club. "The lads have been flying so far this season, I just want to come and add some more quality into the midfield by showing my passing range, scoring goals and getting assists.

"I've actually scored here at Tannadice for Scotland U21s and created one for Glenn (Middleton) so hopefully we see some more of that!"
