Former Scarlets and Wales U-20 player cleared of designer watch robbery
A former Scarlets and Wales U-20 player has been found not guilty of taking part in an designer watch robbery after the prosecution offered no evidence against him. A judge told Dominic Booth, 24, he was leaving court with his good character intact.
The former hooker was one of five men originally charged with robbery in connection with the alleged theft of watches from an address in Llanelli on Christmas Eve 2021. Four of the men, including Ospreys scrum-half Luke Davies, pleaded not guilty to robbery while Mr Booth pleaded guilty, and a trial date of November 18 was set.
In October the prosecution offered no evidence against the four accused men with Swansea Crown Court hearing that the alleged complainant in the case had not engaged with police and was himself now being investigated. Not guilty verdicts were formally recorded for the four men. For the latest court reports, sign up to our crime newsletter here.

On Wednesday (December 18) Mr Booth's case came back before the court to consider a written submission from barrister Andrew Taylor arguing that his client should be allowed to vacate his guilty plea. Judge Huw Rees said given what he had read about the developments in the case since the plea had been been entered it would be unjust not to allow the application. Mr Booth, of Pyatts Nest, Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire, was then re-arraigned on the charge of robbery and pleaded not guilty.
Ieuan Rees, for the prosecution, said no evidence would be offered against the defendant and the judge recorded a formal not guilty verdict. Addressing Mr Booth in the dock, Judge Rees said: "You go away with your character intact, and you should remember that".
