Former Stanley boss Coleman takes charge of League Two rivals
Former Stanley boss John Coleman is back in management with League Two rivals Gillingham.
Coleman, who has been out of management since his exit from the Wham Stadium last March, has taken charge of the Gills until the end of the season.
He will be joined by long-term assistant Jimmy Bell at the Priestfield Stadium and their first game will be against Fleetwood on Saturday.
Managing director Joe Comper told the club site: “I am delighted that John and Jimmy have agreed to join us.
“John brings a wealth of experience to the football club but, having met him, he retains a huge amount of hunger to be successful.
“He knows the league well, he is familiar with our group of players and has even managed a couple of them while with his previous club.
“We still have high hopes and a real belief that the season can end on a high with a good second-half of the campaign, and I'm confident John and Jimmy are the people to make that happen.”
Gillingham currently sit 14th in the table and are without victory in their last four matches.
Coleman is now set to return to the Wham Stadium on Saturday, March 15 when Stanley host the Gills.
