Forest Green Rovers have signed former Woking centre-half Cian Harries on a permanent deal.

In a second deal of the day after Luke McCormick's arrival from Bristol Rovers on loan, the 27-year-old joins Rovers from fellow National League side Woking and has appeared in 66 games at the level in his career.

Jordan Moore-Taylor picked up an injury in Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw against Barnet. Therefore, Harries will provide good cover and threaten the starting XI in that central defensive position.

The defender has made 24 league appearances for the Cards this season, scoring one goal in that time for the club.

Harries spent his youth career with Coventry City before eventually leaving to join Swansea City in 2017.

The 27-year-old has had loan spells with Fortuna Sittard and Cheltenham Town and permanent deals with Swindon Town, Bristol Rovers and Aldershot Town.

In his time with the Shots last season, he scored eight penalty goals. Despite Rovers having only been given one penalty in the league this term, it is another great option to have from 12-yards.

He made 56 appearances for the Gas over the course of three seasons and will wear the number 26 shirt for his new club.
