Former Ipswich Town youngster Tawanda Chirewa has joined Huddersfield Town on loan from Premier League side Wolves until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old midfielder returned to Molineux at the start of the year after spending the first half of the campaign on loan at Derby County in the Championship.

However, the Rams cut short that spell after he made just five appearances during a stint hampered by injuries.

Chirewa was on the bench for Wanderers as they beat Aston Villa last Saturday, which put Town three points adrift of safety in the top flight.

He now joins Michael Duff's side, who sit in the play-off spots in the League One as they look for a instant return back to the second tier.

Chirewa will link-up with former Town forward Freddie Ladapo at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Zimbabwe international left the Blues to move to Wolves in September 2023, having turned down a new deal at Portman Road.

Town received a compensation fee for the attacker, who played four games during his spell in Suffolk.

The Chelmsford born Chirewa has since featured ten times for the West Midlands club - eight of which in the Premier League.
