Former WWE world champion urges Royal Rumble entry for TNA wrestlers - 'let's get rockin' and rollin'
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth feels the new partnership should allow TNA wrestlers to enter the Royal Rumble.
The current TNA World Champion - who wrestled under Dolph Zigger during his time with WWE - spoke out after the rivals announced a multi-year link up on Thursday. The new collaboration will see wrestlers from both promotions regularly appear on NXT and TNA programming. NXT is a developmental programme where the next generation of superstars fight for the chance to make the jump to Raw or SmackDown.
The likes of John Cena and The Rock made the Monday Night Raw Netflix debut on January 6 a worldwide smash hit. This latest partnership adds a whole new roster of potential stars that could grace the streaming platform in the future. Nic Nemeth has performed on both TNA and NXT but is best known for his tenure in WWE from 2004 to 2023, where he performed under the ring name Dolph Ziggler.

In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Nemeth said: "It's awesome. A fantastic partnership for both sides here because TNA are up and coming. The WWE is this global, dominant, billion dollar company. And it is like 'here we go, we are going to help each other out'.
"We are going to make it better for fans and then behind the scenes we are going to make it better for both companies. What a huge win. I think it is fantastic. I have no unfinished business in NXT if that is what you are asking. I was already the champ - can I win two championships?"
He added: "But the cool part is it does open the door for Royal Rumble appearances, for a Raw, for a Smackdown, for a live Impact on a Thursday, maybe someone shows up may be a Tuesday night on NXT. If you are going to announce this partnership let's get rockin' and rollin' and it is going to be good for everybody - most importantly the fans."
