Forward joins Town on loan from Championship side Burnley
Swindon Town has confirmed the loan signing of forward Joe Westley from Championship side Burnley until the end of the season, subject to EFL approval.
The 20-year-old forward joins Swindon from Championship side Burnley and spent a month on a youth loan at National League side, Rochdale back in October.
Last season, Westley spent time with AFC Fylde and featured for Burnley Under-21s and their Under-18s side. Joe Westley signed scholarship terms with Burnley in the summer of 2021, signing a professional contract with the Clarets in January 2023.
Upon signing for Swindon, Joe Westley said: "It's amazing to join this club and to be here now and train with the lads today, I can't wait to get going. The club is massive, it's a massive club for this league and it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down."
Following Westley's arrival, Manager, Ian Holloway added: "Joe is an exciting player that is going to add to our forward utility. He adds strength in pace, getting in behind, and will enable us to mix it up during games as he can work in a two or three-man forward line."
"I think he's a great signing for us. It's the skillset he has that I like. He will push all of our forward players to their max and we have such a fantastic group that Joe will be able to integrate straight into."
A spokesperson for Swindon Town added: "Joe Westley becomes our latest addition and will wear the number 25 shirt, and we look forward to seeing him in action as a Town player."
Westley joins League One club Mansfield's Tom Nichols as the club's second loan signing so far this transfer window.
And in terms of players going out the other way, only Romaire Longelo has departed the club so far, joining fellow League Two side Salford City.
