Four former players Jose Mourinho could sign to get band back together at Chelsea
Jose Mourinho might just be plotting a reunion with some of his old guard wherever his next job is.
One possibility that has been suggested is a third stint with former club Chelsea. There has been speculation over Mauricio Pochettino's role throughout the season, but the recent form has seen that die down.
former Liverpool man Robbie Fowler has suggested that Liverpool could do well under the stewardship of a seasoned manager like Mourinho, instead of moving for Arne Slot, who looks set to take over from Jurgen Klopp. The former striker pointing out: "I could understand why you would get someone like Mourinho. A case in point would be Real Madrid, for example."
He elaborated on the need for experience in management by referencing Real Madrid's decision after Zinedine Zidane's departure: "When Zinedine Zidane left for the second time in 2021, they didn't go looking for a young and up-coming manager, they went for an experienced manager in Carlo Ancelotti. That experience and that know-how can definitely help a club in transition."
Amid the speculation over Maourinho's future, Express Sport speculated on four players who could be on Mourinho's radar for a potential rebuild with his new club, whether that's Chelsea or elsewhere.
Fikayo Tomori
Top of the list could be Fikayo Tomori, the AC Milan centre-back who rose through the ranks at Chelsea during Mourinho's tenure, making him a potentially astute addition to any new club in June.

The 26-year-old left Chelsea in 2021 on a permanent deal, but has already played in the Premier League. He is unlikely to be first choice at Liverpool, but Chelsea may be in need of a centre-back in the summer given Thiago Silva's departure.
Evan Ndicka.
Roma's Evan Ndicka is another potential recruit. The defender was linked with a free transfer to Liverpool last summer, but instead joined Roma where he has been a regular under Mourinho this season.
At 24, Ndicka still has plenty of potential and could provide valuable support at any club/ Despite a recent health scare during a match against Udinese, he has been cleared to return to the pitch following cardiological tests.
Nicolo Zaniolo.
Nicolo Zaniolo has been a name linked with the Premier League for the last few years He spent last summer on loan at Aston Villa from Galatasaray, but has found playing time limited and is expected to return to Turkey when the season concludes.
Zaniolo still has ample time to reach his full potential, Mourinho could provide him with the opportunity.. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Galatasaray are willing to part ways with him for a mere £17million.
Tammy Abraham.
Tammy Abraham shone under Mourinho at Roma before suffering a severe knee injury towards the end of last season. He made a comeback last month, netting his first goal of the season against Napoli in Roma's latest league match.
Chelsea could be on the search for a new striker in the summer. They could potentially return to a player who is well known around the club.
