France's lucky charm?

Will this man be back on song?
16:38 , Alex Young
Kick-off is fast approaching. Final preparations from both squads.
What do France need tonight?
16:30 , Alex Young
France simply need to a draw tonight to seal a top-two place, and that will also be enough for top spot if Netherlands lose to Austria.
To get top spot, and a kinder last-16 draw, France need to better the Dutch’s result. They are level on points and goal difference, so a big win over Poland may be needed.
Netherlands have scored two goals to France’s one, so the group could even be decided on that if the GD is the same.
Basically, France need to score goals.
Team news
16:11 , Alex Young
So, as expected, France captain Kylian Mbappe is back into the starting XI. In a more surprising move, Griezmann is on the bench as Barcola starts
Poland also hand a start to their captain as Robert Lewandowski is finally fit enough to get the nod.

Lewandowski has no plans to retire
15:46 , Alex Young
Poland's Robert Lewandowski has no intention of retiring from international soccer after his side's disappointing Euro 2024 campaign.
With Poland having little but pride to play for in their final game, having become the first team to be eliminated from the European Championship on Friday, there were questions about the 35-year-old Lewandowski's international future.
"I'm 36 years old soon. A lot of people will be wondering how long I will play for, but I still have that fire inside of me and no one from outside will be able to affect my decision," he told reporters on Monday.
"One day, maybe I'll wake up and think maybe it's time to think about retiring from international duty. But today I feel and I see that this team has a future, that despite this European Championship we have built something here.
"We have constructed something here. I see the potential in this team. I see a lot of young players emerging."

Mbappe 'raring to go'
15:25 , Alex Young
Didier Deschamps says Kylian Mbappe is “raring to go” ahead of a potential return for France tonight.
The France captain has been training in a mask and played in an hour-long behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday, in which he scored two goals.
“The bruise has gone down a lot”, said Deschamps of Mbappe’s fracture. “He’s getting used to the mask. He wants to play, he’s raring to go.
“We all know about Kylian’s qualities, and one of the reasons we weren’t able to hit the back of the net [against Holland] was maybe a lack of efficiency. Maybe the fact Kylian will be here will help us score goals and win the game. It is a huge advantage to have him.”

France vs Poland prediction
15:04 , Alex Young
France have certainly not been at their attacking best at Euro 2024 so far, with their only goal of the tournament coming through Maximilian Wober turning the ball into his own net.
Austria and the Netherlands have been tough opposition, though, and they should find this a more routine assignment, particularly if Mbappe is back in the side.
France to win, 2-0

Poland team news
14:52 , Alex Young
Poland, who have already been knocked out of the tournament, could welcome back Robert Lewandowski into the starting line-up.
The Barcelona forward missed their defeat to the Dutch before coming off the bench against the Austrians.
Krzysztof Piatek may then drop to the bench, while Bartosz Salamon is a doubt with an ankle injury.
France team news
14:45 , Alex Young
France are set to hand Kylian Mbappe a return to their starting line-up in tonight’s Euro 2024 group finale against Poland.
The striker has had to wear a protective mask after suffering a broken nose during his country’s opening win over Austria.
On a yellow card already after coming back on the pitch following his injury during that game in order to slow down proceedings, the Real Madrid-bound striker sat out of the draw with the Netherlands.
However, Didier Deschamps has described Mbappe as “raring to go” in a big indication that he will start in Dortmund.
