Former Arsenal defender Rob Holding could be on the move again in the January transfer window, with Championship side Coventry City reportedly interested in signing him.

The 29-year-old is currently at Crystal Palace but has not made a Premier League appearance so far this season. He has been left out of the squad entirely for 19 of the 20 games.

It is reported that Palace manager Oliver Glasner, has frozen the player of the squad. He is said to be training with the U21s and was not included in the official squad photo at the start of the season.

Holding joined Palace from Arsenal in the summer of 2023 after spending seven years with the Gunners, during that time he made 162 first team appearances for the club.

Since moving to Selhurst Park he has made just one appearance in 16 months. Holding could now be offered a lifeline by new Coventry boss Frank Lampard.

According to The Sun, the Sky Blues want to sign the defender on loan from Palace, and are working to persuade the player to take the step down to the Championship. Former Chelsea man Lampard joined Coventry at the end of November, replacing Mark Robins in the managerial chair and January could give him a chance to add his own stamp on the Coventry squad.

His team currently sit in 15th place in the Championship table, the weekend saw them fall to a 2-1 defeat against Norwich City.
