Frank Lampard hopes Manchester United transfer domino frees up Coventry City's Chelsea short-list
Coventry City boss Frank Lampard is claimed to have a shortlist of three players that he’d like to take on loan from his former club Chelsea for the remainder of the season.
The Sky Blues head coach has already been linked with talented teenager Sam Rak-Sakyi and now it has emerged that Tyrique George could well be a target for the Stamford Bridge legend.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues are not currently willing to loan anyone out to Coventry in case they need them for a swap deal. However, according to Phillips’ source, Lampard has a "shortlist" of three Chelsea players and has asked his former club can he take one of them for the rest of the season.

Although 18-year-old winger George has recently broken into the first team, getting six minutes off the bench in last week’s 3-1 Premier League win over Wolves, Phillips has also claimed that George could depart Chelsea temporarily if the Blues sign a new left winger.
Chelsea have been linked with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and if Chelsea do go on to sign the Argentina international, then that could pave the way for George to join the Championship club.
According to Phillips, George has been the subject of multiple loan offers this month, saying recently: “We are hearing that Tyrique George has received a host of loan offers this month to spend the second half of the season developing and playing senior football.”
Prior to his late cameo against Wolves, George helped Chelsea beat League Two Morecambe 5-0 in the FA Cup.
