Frank Lampard shuts down Leeds United question as Coventry City avoid a hiding
Frank Lampard refused to comment on the bizarre gesture he made to the Leeds United fans after his Coventry City side lost 2-0 on Wednesday night.
Leeds ran out comfortable winners at the CBS Arena thanks to first-half goals from Joel Piroe and Jayden Bogle. Daniel Farke's side could have scored more, with the Whites missing FIVE clear-cut chances compared to Coventry's one. However, that didn't matter to the end result as Leeds moved five points clear at the top of the Championship.
As for Coventry, it was their first defeat in 10 matches and just the third since Lampard took over from Mark Robins at the end of November. The Sky Blues have enjoyed a fine run to take them clear from the relegation zone and near the play-off places, though that ended with defeat against high-flying Leeds.

But despite losing, Lampard didn't appear fazed and made two bizarre gestures to the travelling Leeds fans after the full-time whistle. Lampard decided to cup his ears to the Leeds supporters and then outstretched his fist.
Asked about that in his post-match press conference, former Derby County and Chelsea boss Lampard provided a blunt seven-word response. He said: "I don't want to talk about that."
Lampard's feud with Leeds has rumbled on for several years. It started during the 2018/19 season when he was involved in the infamous spygate incident. While in charge of Derby, Lampard's side travelled up to Elland Road looking to continue their fine form against a Leeds side top of the Championship.
However, before the game, it emerged that Bielsa had sent a staff member to spy on the Rams' training session. Lampard was furious with Bielsa and Leeds, who ran out 2-0 winners on that occasion.
Lampard has since managed against Leeds on several occasions but Wednesday's defeat with his Coventry team was the first in almost two-and-a-half years. And although Lampard made them two gestures, he was full of praise for Leeds and Daniel Farke after they extended their lead at the top of the Championship.
"They're a strong team," Lampard added. "They're top of the league for a reason.
"Lots of talent, lots of speed, well coached, good team, Premier League experience and I'm really impressed with them. Sometimes you have to praise a team that comes here and does well. There's other teams up there but they're in with a great chance."
