The Friedkin Group send new 'excellence' message in Everton video following takeover
Everton’s new owners The Friedkin Group have sent an inspirational New Year’s message for 2025, featuring the Blues. The Houston-based firm delivered a post to their 28,000 LinkedIn followers, declaring: “From thrilling moments on the big screen, the pitch, and on the road, to one-of-a-kind experiences in extraordinary destinations, 2024 went the extra mile.
“Happy New Year from The Friedkin Group. Here’s to even greater adventures in 2025!”
The post is accompanied by a 30-second video that includes a variety of clips from Dan Friedkin’s wide range of business interests, including luxury resorts, cinema, cars, aviation and sport. The montage is captioned: “Celebrating an extraordinary year. From the road, to the pitch.
“From the big screen, to thrilling destinations. Celebrating a year of commitment, care, excellence, evolution.
“Happy New Year from The Friedkin Group. Here’s to great adventures in 2025.”

Included within the footage are three separate clips from Everton matches this season showing Dwight McNeil celebrating his match-winning goal against Crystal Palace; Iliman Ndiaye finding the net at Leicester City as the Blues earned their first point of the campaign and Beto’s last minute headed equaliser against Fulham. It is the third time that TFG have taken to the platform to send out a post featuring Everton since their takeover of the club was officially announced on December 19.
On that day they declared: “It’s official! Everton Football Club is now a part of The Friedkin Group family. We are thrilled to lead this historic club into a new era.”
Then, on December 28, they celebrated Everton’s rich heritage with a post stating: “You’ve got to know your history to be a true ‘Evertonian,’ accompanied by a 90-second video on the Blues’ glorious past and hopes for the future, including the upcoming move from Goodison Park to the new stadium.
Despite recent trips to the UK to play golf in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews and Carnoustie in October and then attend talks with Claudio Ranieri in London the following month ahead of appointing him Roma’s fourth head coach this year, Dan Friedkin, chairman and chief executive of TFG, who is proposed to be chairman of the board at Everton, has yet to attend a game at Goodison Park alongside his son Ryan. However, Marc Watts, who is the Blues’ new executive chairman, was present for the first fixture after the takeover, the goalless draw with Chelsea on December 22, as part of a four-man delegation, having officially received the keys to the new stadium alongside interim chief executive Colin Chong, two days earlier.
