Fulham have completed the signing of Willian on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old has been training with Marco Silva’s side on a two-week trial basis after seeing his contract with Brazilian giants Corinthians terminated and has signed a one-year contract.

Following social media abuse in his native Brazil, the former Chelsea and Arsenal forward and his family were keen on a return to London, where the player has recently been living out of a hotel.

Fellow summer signing Manor Solomon is expected to miss a large portion of the season after suffering a knee injury in training following just one appearance for the club.

A deal for Justin Kluivert, meanwhile, broke down after the winger’s work permit application was denied, with his appearances on loan at Nice from AS Roma last season not counting towards the points system used by the Football Association.

Willian won two Premier League titles and both domestic cup competitions during his time with Chelsea before an ill-fated move to Arsenal in the summer of 2019.

Of his move, the player told Fulham’s official website: “I’m happy to be here, I’m happy to be back in the Premier League.

“Fulham is a special club, a club that wants to improve, that wants to fight for something bigger, so I’m here to help, and I cant wait to get started.”
