Gabby Logan will mark her 18th year at the BBC by becoming one of three new Match of the Day presenters replacing Gary Lineker next season.

Logan, 51, has been at the corporation since January 2007 and is among its highest-paid stars. For contributing to their 2022 sports coverage, including presenting from the men's World Cup and Women's European Championship in 2022, plus Sports Personality of the Year, she received a salary of between £240,000 and £250,000.

However, the BBC's latest annual report in July 2024 did not publish the salary paid to her as Logan did not earn over a £178,000 minimum threshold to make those figures public. She reputedly has a net worth of around £4million.

Logan's son, Reuben

After being named in Scotland's squad for the Six Nations under-20s Championship, Reuben Logan attracted national media attention in January, having previously played for England's under-18s and under-20s. He had been part of the Scottish pathway before wearing the Red Rose but is now back with a thistle on his chest.

Aged 19, Logan is already 6ft5in and weighs around 18 stone after transitioning from being a back into a back row forward. He came through the Wasps academy before signing a professional contract with Northampton Saints in March 2023 after the Coventry-based club went into administration the previous year.

Logan's husband, Kenny

Reuben qualifies to play for Scotland through his father, Kenny, who was born in Stirling and played 70 times for his country over 11 years, including at the 2003 World Cup, after which he retired from international rugby. Logan spent most of his senior career at Wasps when they played in London.

He married Gabby Yorath, her maiden name, in the summer of 2021 while based in the capital after dating the Scottish newsreader Kirsty Young for three years until 1999. The Logans welcomed twins after undergoing IVF treatment in 2005, Reuben and his twin sister, Lois, a showjumper and geography undergraduate at Loughborough University.

Logan's early life

Gabby, meanwhile, was a rhythmic gymnast who represented Wales at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. She also played netball and competed in the high jump growing up.

Despite being born in Leeds, she qualified through her father, Terry, who is from Cardiff and played for Don Revie's Leeds United before coaching Swansea City - twice - and the Welsh national team, among other clubs.

She became interested in football by attending her father's matches alongside her mother, Christine, eldest brother, Daniel, and sister, Louise. Her younger brother, Jordan, also played for Halifax Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Wakefield after representing England Universities as a student.
