Gabriel Jesus fires early Arsenal team news hint vs Ipswich as big Mikel Arteta decision made
Mikel Arteta is facing a number of team selection decisions for Arsenal's Premier League clash against Ipswich with one of those involving Gabriel Jesus. The Brazil international has scored five goals in his last two games with the Gunners netting eight across two wins over Crystal Palace.
While Arteta will be delighted at his form in front of goal, the Arsenal boss has lost a key part of his attack with Bukayo Saka set to miss a significant period due to a hamstring injury.
Raheem Sterling is also currently unavailable alongside Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. The latter duo's absence has not been clearly noticed however, with Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori and now Myles Lewis-Skelly providing cover. The same may not end up being said for Saka though, with the Arsenal talisman vital to most attacks.

Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and Jesus are all versatile enough to fill in but it remains to be seen who Arteta will deploy on the right and the impact it will have elsewhere. With the January transfer window firmly on the horizon, Arteta has already revealed whether or not Arsenal will dip into the market for a replacement.
"My intention right now is to get the best of what we have in the time right now," Arteta admitted in a press conference. "What is outside is not in our control.
"We have to look internally at what we have and be creative. It’s a good exercise again of how can we mould the squad, how can we adapt to the circumstances and how can we be different? We’re not going to be the same. We’re going to be different. Try and find the best way to do it and win games."
The attackers struggling to nail down a place in the starting XI are likely to benefit from Saka's absence with Jesus certainly one of those and now he has hinted a third consecutive start will be coming against Ipswich at Emirates Stadium this evening.
On Instagram, the 27-year-old posted a video to his story promoting the fixture against the Tractor Boys; an action usually done by a player set for a prominent involvement.
With Jesus seemingly primed for a start, it would seem we are now just waiting for confirmation of exactly what position he will play in and its impact on Martinelli, Trossard and Kai Havertz.
