Gabriel Magalhaes and Erling Haaland reignite feud after Arsenal dream start vs Man City
Arsenal favourite Gabriel Magalhaes has reignited his prolonged feud with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in the first half at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola's sides met once again on Sunday, this time in north London for another Premier League contest. On the fifth week of the 2024/25 campaign the two had played out a feisty 2-2 draw in Manchester.
Whereas there Haaland had handed his team the lead, this time it was Arsenal who made a dream start by striking just 104 seconds into the match.

A costly error by Manuel Akanji allowed the Gunners the opportunity, with Kai Havertz unselfishly squaring to captain Martin Odegaard to easily finish past Stefan Ortega.
As the Emirates Stadium erupted, there was one moment that almost went amiss if not for the broadcasters' cameras fixated on the reaction of Haaland.
Dejected, the visiting striker looked on whilst an onrushing Gabriel laughed in his face before joining his Arsenal teammates in celebrations at the opposite end of the field.
"A little bit of chit-chat, that takes me back," Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville commented, adding: "It tells you there is a carry-over of emotion from the last game. I mean, if he needed any more firing up, Erling Haaland."
Of course, Neville refers back to that last meeting at the Etihad Stadium which ended in both suffering dropped points and flaring tempers on-field.
It had all started when Man City midfielder Rodri was forced off with injury - later revealed to be a season-ending ACL issue.
Goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel had turned around the Gunners' deficit, and up until a 98th-minute John Stones response they had looked like claiming victory.
In the aftermath of those celebrations, Haaland had picked up and thrown the ball at the back of Gabriel's head then after the restart had barged into Thomas Partey, flooring him.
Arteta followed with a heated post-match exchange, Gabriel Jesus chimed in and the Norwegian had told his opposition - who he had beat to the Premier League title in the previous two seasons - to 'stay humble'.
Haaland may have equalised after his countryman's opener on this day, but with that comment still fresh in the memory his Man City side again find themselves behind in north London.
That is based on today's scoreline and also by nine points on the Premier League table as things stand.
