Galatasaray confirm interest in Scott McTominay and Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg

Galatasaray vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu has confirmed Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg and Scott McTominay are transfer targets this summer.

The Turkish champions are looking to build on a record-breaking season in which they held off the challenge of arch rivals Fenerbahce by claiming a stunning 102 points.

Fenerbahce have since responded by appointing Jose Mourinho as manager, with the champions now looking to build from a position of strength.

McTominay proved a key player for Manchester United last season, scoring seven Premier League goals from midfield but has entered the final year of his contract.

West Ham held an interest in the 27-year-old last summer but Galatasaray are now trying to sign him, with United undertaking something of a rebuild under INEOS ownership.

“We are interested in a player from the Premier League and Manchester United,” Hatipoglu told CNN Turk.

“There is nothing more natural than the high cost of this. There are discussions regarding his transfer fee. For us, the total cost, including transfer fees and player receivables [salary], is important at the decision point.

“Once the negotiations with both the club and the player are completed, the cost becomes apparent.”

Hojbjerg is also into the final year of his contract at Tottenham and Spurs are willing to listen to offers for the Danish midfielder.

The former Southampton man snubbed a move away to Fulham last summer but, according to Hatipoglu, is now assesing his options.

Hatipoglu told Haber Sarı Kirmizi: “McTominay’s transfer is being discussed.

“Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is a good player, he has many suitors, he wants to see all option.”
