Galatasaray reportedly approach Saints to sign Walker-Peters
TURKISH giants Galatasaray have reportedly approached Southampton to sign full-back Kyle Walker-Peters.
The 27 year old has entered the final six months of his contract and will depart St Mary's on a free transfer should he not ink new terms.
Manager Ivan Juric is keen to keep the versatile defender this month, however, Saints are open to selling should they receive a fair offer.
The two-time England international has been offered a new contract by Southampton but was coy about the possibility of signing fresh terms when speaking to the Daily Echo last year.
Asked about his future in November, he said: "I'm a footballer and I want to play. Whilst I'm here at Southampton, I'm enjoying playing.
"It's an extremely special part of my career. They took me from Tottenham and allowed me to become a Premier League regular. I'm forever grateful.
"I hope the fans are also grateful. I've never kicked up a fuss, never refused to play and never thrown any tantrums. I've always tried to give my all for the club."
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano and several Turkish outlets have reported that Galatasaray hold interest in Walker-Peters this month.
Walker-Peters has made 186 appearances for Saints since joining on loan from Spurs in January 2020 and has been a key man throughout.
He was named in the Championship team of the season last campaign as Southampton won promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs.
