Galway vs Armagh team news as Kieran McGeeney names new-look team for season opener in Salthill
Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney will be without a score of first-team regulars for Saturday’s Division One opener against Galway in Pearse Stadium on Saturday.
Just 10 of the players who started last summer’s All-Ireland final win over the Tribesmen in Croke Park have been named for Saturday’s rematch in Salthill with defenders Paddy Burns and Aaron McKay and attackers Rian O’Neill and Joe McElroy all absent from the squad. Conor Turbitt is named on the bench.
Tomás McCormack and Greg McCabe have been drafted into the defence in place of Burns and the injured McKay.
