Reading boss Noel Hunt is calling on his players to be on their 'A-Game' tomorrow as Shrewsbury Town visit the SCL Stadium.

Managed by former Wycombe Wanderers chief Gareth Ainsworth, who lives in the town, the Shrews have won their last two matches and are now only four points adrift of safety in the relegation zone.

The Royals held Huddersfield Town to a 0-0 draw on Saturday and will be looking for a second win in three matches, and ideally a third straight clean sheet.

Salop have been something of a bogey side for the club since their return to the third tier, winning both matches against Reading 3-2 last season.

Infamously, Shrewsbury scored twice in stoppage time at Croud Meadow last November to overturn a deficit and pick up a dramatic victory which left Ruben Selles' side 10 points adrift at the bottom of League One.

However, 15 months on Reading are just two points outside the play-offs and are aiming to hit form as a run of home matches come on the horizon.

"There are no easy games," Hunt said after Saturday's draw. "Shrewsbury are fighting for their lives, they have a good manager and players who can hurt you, so we need to be on top form and bring our A-Game, as we do every matchday."

Reading have lost twice at home under Hunt, to Blackpool and Stockport County, but beat Bolton Wanderers last week to return to winning ways.

Due to international breaks and rescheduled fixtures, Shrewsbury are the only side Reading are yet to face even once this season.
