Garan Croft wins second professional fight via decision in London
Garan Croft improved his record to 2-0 with a points win in London on Saturday night.
The Croft twin appeared on the undercard of Adam Azim vs Sergey Lipinets at Wembley Arena where he outpointed Dmitri Protkunas over four rounds.
Despite winning every round, Garan was unable to replicate the technical knockout he attained in his debut in Waterford last December when he stopped Ermin Sali in 15 seconds.
Garan said: "As time has passed I have been more pleased with my performance. Watching it back, my opponent didn't give me much to work with. He was very negative and defensively-minded.
"But overall it was a mature performance. We will see the benefits of those extra rounds when I have my third fight.
"It was quite exciting to be in London for a pretty good show on Sky Sports. On the Thursday we had a press conference. There was a big build up to enjoy.
"Nothing has been confirmed yet but me and Ioan are both likely to be back in the ring in April."
Ioan Croft is first set to return to the ring on March 1 in a homecoming bout at Vale Arena, Cardiff after knocking out Bartosz Glowacki in the first round on the same professional debut night as Garan.
Garan continued: "I'm really excited for Ioan's fight in Cardiff. 200 people from West Wales have already bought tickets to attend the show. The response has been mega.
"I'm more excited for the fans because Ioan is going to produce a great performance. Anyone who is interested in a ticket can contact me or Ioan."
The Croft twins won respective gold and bronze medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and are both trained for former Lightweight World Champion Anthony Crolla.
In the professional ranks, Garan is competing at super welterweight while Ioan is campaigning at middleweight.
Born in Crymych where they attended Cardigan ABC, Garan and Ioan have been open about the support they received from local businesses during their amateur careers and have expressed their desire to give back.
They previously expressed the challenges with transport and a reliance on their parents to drive them to training.
Croft twins raised over £17,000 for fellow Pembrokeshire athlete, Mia Lloyd by auctioning a bespoke painting of themselves at Hotel Plas Hyfryd, Narberth.
On Saturday, January 18, theTheir event also featured a three-course meal, an auction for other prestigious items and live music from The Dhogie Band.
Mia is a paralympic athlete who is hoping to compete at the next Commonwealth and Paralympic Games and the twins’ donation will help her with training costs.
