Gary Neville has delivered his verdict on Nottingham Forest’s chances of finishing in the top four in the Premier League.

The Reds have defied all expectation so far this season to sit in fourth place in the top-flight after 16 matches. Nuno’s side are one place above champions Manchester City as they join Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the top four.

Their impressive form, which has seen them beat both Liverpool and Manchester United and also Aston Villa, who finished in fourth place last season, has sparked hope among supporters of qualifying to play in Europe next season.

Making his latest top-four prediction, Neville told the Overlap US: "Top four… I’ve not got full faith in Tottenham, Aston Villa and, to be fair, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and all the other teams that are in and around it.

"I think it will be (Man) City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal at this moment in time. It’s the first time I haven’t said (Manchester) United will be in the top four, I think, in about 15 years!"

Neville had previously backed Manchester United to finish in the top four.

His co-host Jamie Carragher agreed with Neville’s top-four prediction, adding: "I’ll go for Liverpool [to finish as champions] and Chelsea second because they’ve got no Europe. So I’ll go with Chelsea, I’ll go with Arsenal and I’ll go with Manchester City."
