Gary Neville is struggling to enjoy watching Manchester United when he works as a pundit.

United are currently 13th in the Premier League, they have a -6 goal difference and Ruben Amorim recently said that his side are "maybe" the worst team in the club's history.

Amorim arrived from Sporting Lisbon in November but has been unable to climb the table. United have continued to be inconsistent and they scraped a 2-1 victory against Leicester in the FA Cup at Old Trafford last week.

Neville has become a star pundit for Sky Sports since retiring as a player, although some United fans have suggested the former right-back can be too critical of his former club.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Neville provided his thoughts on United's performances and admitted he no longer enjoys being told he's working as a pundit on United games.

"Watching it at the moment is hard work," Neville said. "I prefer not to be given United games. That's a really bad conclusion for me to be at. As a United fan I’m thinking, 'f*** it, I've got to go and do United again'.

"It's got to a point whereby you think it can't go any lower. Ruben Amorim, I bet he can't believe what he's seeing. Some weeks you think 'what the hell am I watching?' It is going to take tough decisions. And to be fair to Ruben Amorim, he's making tough decisions, like the Marcus Rashford one.

"How can you play so well against Liverpool, who are the best team in the country, and then lose at home to Crystal Palace? That's the bit where I lose sympathy because that's not right.

"That's about pride, personal levels, getting up for every game. I used to call it slap yourself across the face. F***ing wake yourself up because you’ll get a shock if you’re not on it.

"Any Premier League team, whether it's now or whether it's 20 years ago, if you're one, two, three, four per cent off where you should be, they'll do you."

United will face Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is under immense pressure.

Tottenham welcomed United to London in the Carabao Cup just two months ago and won 4-3.
