NEWARK Angling Club recently held their annual awards night for the 2024 season.

It was a night of high spirits with 40 anglers in attendance at the Hibernian Hall in Port Glasgow.

Club president  John Miller welcomed kindred clubs Port Glasgow Angling Club and Greenock and District Angling club to the event, and thanked the the committee  of the Hibernian Club for the use of their facility.

The club enjoyed a good season where members enjoyed a variety of trips, where three top gongs handed out on the night.

This year's overall champion was George Gemmell senior, while George Martin took the senior citizen champion's title

Elsewhere, the club's junior section enjoyed a good season, with Calum McDonald lifting the junior championship title closely followed Aidan Doyle and Luca Eardley.
