Germany XI vs Denmark: Antonio Rudiger injury latest, predicted lineup and confirmed Euro 2024 team news

Germany are hoping to have Antonio Rudiger available for their Euro 2024 last-16 match against Denmark on Saturday.

The centre-back has played every minute at the tournament so far but was seen lying on the floor in pain after Germany’s draw with Switzerland, a result that saw them through to the knockout stages as group winners.

“He has a bit of a problem with his thigh,” Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann confirmed after the match.“We’ll have to see. I hope it’s nothing serious. We’ll see. That could be quite problematic.”

Rudiger did, however, return to team training on Friday and is expected to be in contention for Saturday’s clash in Dortmund.

Nagelsmann named the same side in every Group A match, but the hosts will be without the suspended Jonathan Tah against Switzerland. Nico Schlotterbeck is set to come in and replace Tah and, should Rudiger be ruled out, Waldemar Anton will likely partner him.

It is otherwise set to be a familiar lineup for Germany, with Toni Kroos and Robert Andrich in midfield, and Kai Havertz leading the line despite Niclas Fullkrug’s goalscoring efforts.

Leroy Sane came off the bench in all three group-stage matches and is set to be among the substitutes again, with Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala keeping their places in the side.

Predicted Germany XI: Neuer; Kimmich, Rudiger, Schlotterbeck, Mittelstadt; Kroos, Andrich; Musiala, Gundogan, Wirtz; Havertz

Doubt: Rudiger
